If you live on a qualifying Tribal Land, your household may be eligible for ACP’s enhanced Tribal benefit, which features up to a $75/month discount on home internet service.
What are Tribal Lands?
The ACP uses the same definition of Tribal lands as the Lifeline program. In Riverside County, the enhanced tribal benefit applies to the following tribal nations:
- Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians
- Augustine Band of Mission Indians
- Cabazon Band of Mission Indians
- Cahuilla Band of Indians
- Morongo Band of Mission Indians
- Pechanga Band of Luiseño Indians
- Ramona Band of Cahuilla Mission Indians
- Santa Rosa Band of Cahuilla Indians
- Soboba Band of Luiseno Indians
- Torres-Martinez Desert Cahuilla Indians
- Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians
Applying for the ACP Tribal Benefit
Applying for ACP benefits is easy. Just follow these four steps:
1. Find out if you qualify
To qualify for ACP’s enhanced Tribal Benefit, your household must meet the following guidelines:
- Your household is located on qualifying Tribal lands, AND
- Your household income is at or below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines OR any member of your household participates in one of the following:
Government assistance programs, including Lifeline Program, Free or Reduced School Lunch Program, CEP Schools, CalFresh or SNAP, Medi-Cal, Pell Grant, Women, Infants & Children (WIC), Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Federal Public Housing Assistance (FPHA), and Veterans and Survivors Pension
Tribal specific programs
- Bureau of Indian Affairs General Assistance,
- Tribal Head Start (only households meeting the relevant income qualifying standard),
- Tribal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (Tribal TANF), or
- Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations
2. Collect the Requested Documents
During the ACP application process, you’ll need to provide two different types of documentation: one showing proof of identity and another offering proof of eligibility.
PROOF OF IDENTITY
To establish your identity, you can use one of the following:
- U.S Driver’s License
- Government ID: State ID, U.S. Military ID
- Passport (current from any country)
- Individual Taxpayer ID number
- Matricula or Visa Consular Card
- Birth Certificate (any country) for the minor that is the Benefit Qualifying Person (BQP)
If you are applying for the enhanced Tribal Land benefit, you may also use a Tribal Identification number to verify your identity.

3. Complete the Application
Applying for ACP is fast and easy. Just pick one of the methods below:

Tip for Applicants
- Remember to click the ‘Confirm Tribal Qualification’ button on the online application.
- On the paper application, check the ‘Tribal Lands’ box.
- Prove your identity by providing the last four digits of your Social Security Number, your Tribal ID, or identity documents.
- If you qualify for the ACP but your household is not on qualifying Tribal lands, you can still receive the non-Tribal discount of up to $30 per month on internet service and the one-time $100 device discount.
